DJI Announces the Next Generation Ronin 2 Stabilizer that Carries up to 30lbs

DJI’s new handheld or mountable camera stabilization technology is here in the form of the Ronin 2.

After making a huge splash with their drone tech, DJI introduced the original Ronin stabilizer 3 years ago at NAB. This year they’re announcing the Ronin 2, which they call an improvement in every way. Here’s what we know so far:

– Better stabilization with built-in GPS
– Built in 1000nit screen
– Carbon fiber monopod frame with detachable grip and fold away feet
– Carries up to 30lbs, stabilizes going up to 75mph
– Detachable battery powers the R2 for 8hrs, 2.5 hours uptime, hot-swappable
– Quick release
– 2-axis mode for Steadicam
– Redesigned dual-band remote, 2.4ghz and 5.8ghz with 1 mile range
– New software interface includes better Panorama function, timelapse functionality,
– Shipping later this quarter
